Cambridge Stories 02: About St John’s College

Have you heard about St John’s College in Cambridge? This week KnewSTEP Education will continue to share different Cambridge stories with you.

A common myth about St John’s College was about the meaning behind its famous “bridge of signs”, students are rumoured for their sighs on proceeding from their rooms from one side of the college to the tutors’ offices and exam venues of the other side of main courts.

The college is also very famous for its alumni, that eleven Nobel Prizes winners, seven prime ministers and twelve archbishops of various countries. In addition, St John’s is well known for its choir, its members’ success in a wide variety of inter-collegiate sporting competitions and its annual May Ball.

Similar to other colleges, St John’s College also hosted their annual open day in late September / early October for those who are interested in pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate studies at the college. Did you know that the graduation ceremony of our annual summer project was held last year at St John’s College? Our students have presented the topic about ‘sustainability development’ and presented their creative recycled plastic product.
